A team of archaeologists led by Stephen Houston has made a new discovery at the Maya archaeological site in El Zotz, Guatemala, uncovering a pyramid believed to celebrate the Maya sun god. The structure's outer walls depict the god in an unprecedented set of images done in painted stucco. In 2010, the team uncovered a royal tomb filled with artifacts and human remains at the same site. Researchers believe the pyramid was built to link the deceased lord to the eternal sun.

How to build a middleweight black hole
New model for intermediate black hole formation parallels growth of giant planets
A new model shows how an elusive type of black hole can be formed in the gas surrounding their supermassive counterparts. In research published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, scientists from the American Museum of Natural History, the City University of New York, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory of the California Institute of Technology, and the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics propose that intermediate-mass black holes—light-swallowing celestial objects with masses ranging from hundreds to many thousands of times the mass of the Sun—can grow in the gas disks around supermassive black holes in the centers of galaxies. The physical mechanism parallels the model astrophysicists use to describe the growth of giant planets in the gas disks surrounding stars.

Stolen artefacts returned to Afghanistan by British Museum
The British Museum, helped by British police and the UK Border Force, has helped return hundreds of looted artefacts seized from smugglers to Afghanistan.
A total of 850 treasures have been repatriated, having been passed to the British Museum for safeguarding following their confiscation in Britain over the last two years.

Mr. Infidel, Tear Down This Pyramid!
When Ibn Jubayr, the secretary to the Muslim governor of conquered Spain visited the Great Pyramid of Giza in 1182, he described it as a “miraculous construction and wonderful to look upon.” Historian John O’Neill (author of “Holy Warriors”) said the Islamic dignitary was blissfully ignorant as to its builders, believing the ancient structures to be “the tombs of early prophets mentioned in the Koran.” Jubayr lamented, “To be short, none but the Great and Glorious God can know their story.”
TURCIA - BODRUM şi MILET
BODRUM.
Archaeoastronomy of the Ocmulgee Earth Lodge
Was the Ocmulgee earth lodge an astronomical observatory and sophisticated scientific apparatus designed to forewarn its designers of impending catastrophe coming from the heavens?
The earth lodge at the Ocmulgee Mounds site in Macon, Georgia is a unique building among Native American archaeological sites in the Southeast. It is a round building completely covered with earth except for a smoke hole in the center of the roof to allow smoke to escape from the central fire pit below. Entry into the earth lodge was from the east through a low, long, tunnel-like, earth-covered corridor.

Şcoala primară a făcut-o în localitatea natală, tatăl său, Damaschin Daicoviciu, fiindu-i dascăl.

Max Planck: On the Law of Distribution of Energy in the Normal Spectrum
The recent spectral measurements made by O. Lummer and E. Pringsheim, and even more notablethose by H. Rubens and F. Kurlbaum, which together confirmed an earlier result obtained by H. Beck-mann, show that the law of energy distribution in the normal spectrum, first derived by W. Wien frommolecular-kinetic considerations and later by me from the theory of electromagnetic radiation, is notvalid generally.
In any case the theory requires a correction, and I shall attempt in the following to accomplishthis on the basis of the theory of electromagnetic radiation which I developed. For this purpose it willbe necessary first to find in the set of conditions leading to Wien’s energy distribution law that termwhich can be changed; thereafter it will be a matter of removing this term from the set and making an appropriate substitution for it.
