A flood of Biblical proportions just like in the story of Noah's Ark may have actually happened, according to the oceanographer who found the Titanic.

Acclaimed underwater archaeologist Robert Ballard claims his team of researchers have uncovered evidence that suggests The Great Flood described in the Bible was actually based on real events.

THE EPIC OF GILGAMESH

Biblioteca lui Assurbanipal din Ninive (aproape de modernul Mosul, Irak) a fost una dintre cele mai mari si poate prima blibioteca moderna, impartita in mai multe camere, textele fiind grupate dupa subiect. Intr-unele camere se gaseau texte despre istorie, in altele descpre religie si magie, geografie, poezie sau chiar stiinta. Fiecare grup de tablite continea o mica descriere afisata langa intrarea in camere pentru a identifica mai rapid continutul.

Biblioteca Assurbanipal a fost denumita astfel dupa regele Imperiului Neo-Asirian, Assurbunipal (668-627 i.en). Biblioteca contine peste 30.000 de tablite datand din secolul VII i.en. Poate cel mai cunoscut text descoperit aici este faimoasa epopee a lui Gilgamesh. Tablitele au fost descoperite in situl arheologic Kouyunjik, in nordul Mesopotamiei (Irak-ul de astazi).
