The streets of 'Britain's Atlantis' seen for the first time in centuries: 3D scans reveal the 'drowned' medieval town of Dunwich

British researchers have revealed the street of a lost medieval town dubbed 'Britain's Atlantis', for the first time.

The team from the University of Southampton used advanced 3D scanning to reveal the port town of Dunwich.

Present day Dunwich is a village 14 miles south of Lowestoft in Suffolk, but it was once a thriving port – similar in size to 14th Century London until coastal erosion left it 10M underwater.

Was it real or is it just a myth? So many attention seekers have exaggerated or distorted the story that it has become synonymous with a "Fantasy" or an impossible quest.

Lost City of Atlantis

I am here to start a topic of the 4,000 year old Lost City of Atlantis.

People believe that this mythical place was found in Spain & Alaska, my question is was this city this big to be found in both Spain & or Alaska some also say that this amazing city was brought down by a Tsunami then another person brought up this topic again saying that the city was brought down by the worlds biggest volcano that irrupted.

Now whether or not these two topics are true or made to be true why has the government tryd to find this lost city, if this city is suppose to be the greatest city ever made with all these statues ever made that are so calld still standing under the sea/sand of this world what is stopping them from searching for the whole city instead of saying they have found some of it.

Lost City Of Atlantis Not Found Again

Once a year someone is claiming to be on the trail of Atlantis, a science-fiction city or nation or whatever in which super-smart people from the past were somehow wiped out and took a whole lot of cool technology with them.

Last year, it was at least interestingly supposed to be in Spain.

This year, it was maybe in the Baltic Sea - but if you are also searching for Atlantis make sure you use the right fuzzy language so you don't look silly when it turns out not to be aliens from the past. A "discovery" can be a "strange" and "mysterious" seafloor object and no one will object to that.  Then you just hint it might be Atlantis and hope National Geographic gives you a show.

Ruins in Dunwich and Clare given £400,000 for restoration

Two Suffolk landmarks are to benefit from restoration projects after receiving grants worth £400,000.

English Heritage has awarded £186,000 to the medieval ruins of Greyfriars monastery in Dunwich and £102,000 to the remains of Clare Castle.

Suffolk County Council is giving £112,000 to the projects.

Strange Accounts: The World of Hyperborea

Less well-known than Atlantis, the continent of Hyperborea was even more ancient and fantastic. As with Atlantis, Hyperborea was first mentioned by the ancient Greek philosophers. For them, the place was real, not legend, and since that time many researchers have joined in the quest for this lost land.

The oldest mention of Atlantis is found in the Epigones, an epic history of ancient Greece. Although the author has been forgotten, we do know it was written in the 8th Century B.C. Hyperborea is also mentioned in another work of the same period, this one by the celebrated poet Hesiod.
