Археолог Стефани Дэлли из Оксфордского университета представила свидетельства тому, что Висячие сады были построены на территории древней Ассирии. Результаты исследований Дэлли указывают на то, что одно из семи чудес света Древнего мира было построено в 7 веке до нашей эры в столице Ассирийского государства, Ниневии — в пятистах километрах от Вавилона. British researchers have revealed the street of a lost medieval town dubbed 'Britain's Atlantis', for the first time.

The team from the University of Southampton used advanced 3D scanning to reveal the port town of Dunwich.

Present day Dunwich is a village 14 miles south of Lowestoft in Suffolk, but it was once a thriving port – similar in size to 14th Century London until coastal erosion left it 10M underwater.

Little things slow down the process of putting 40 million pages of ancient manuscripts in the Vatican Library online: gold or silver in the illuminations, bindings that disintegrate if you open them, getting the synergy right.

“It is important to realize if there is gold or silver in a manuscript. That requires a very particular process because the light will be different,” said Luciano Ammenti, who is in charge of IT at the Vatican and the project to digitize the storied library’s 82,000 manuscripts.
